Prolly not if my search continues outside myself
But even looking in seems this hunger of mine cannot be quelled
This appetite for greatness
Nothing you could obtain from this world's enough to sustain it
And that itself the danger
What's it mean to be great?
Where's the end of ambition?
What lies beyond cliff of the grandeur that I envision?
If I could try to surmise its hollow kind of existence
Brutal, cold, and indifferent
One I'd prefer not to live in
So if at all possible
I would like nothing more
Than to be content with everything my life's amounted towards
Know it in my soul that my presence has been powerful
Not focused on accomplishments still yet to be accounted for
But honestly
I think I prefer the challenge
Tend the flames of desire delight in striking a balance
I find myself in this midst of this life defining my ballast
Writing these rhymes and ballads
Utilizing my talents
To make something that matters
Make something that out lives
Til my cup runneth over
I'll drink from that chalice
Bird inside of a cage
Even if that cage was a palace
Still I'd sharpen my talons
And find a way to get out it
