There’s a small lake up the river’s bend,
That we knew first hand where most could not,
A sanctuary with time to spend,
In the peace that most others have forgot,
And we pushed that channel over there,
Until we found our boat had aground,
The setting sun and was worth the scare,
For it was worth the loss for all that we had found,

And we can't stop the world from spinning around us,
But in our memory the picture can’t be burned,
And everyone has to move on sometime and that is life

Now seems like everyones waiting for the next step,
For it seems so much greener than their side,

And our joy was left to be dust on our shelves,
