You don’t know what you got until it’s gone, or so they say...
I realised the truth in these words just yesterday.
She came along with just a smile,
Hung on every word I’d say.
Spent so many nights in each other’s arms,
Lived for every day,

One night I had too much, and she just walked away,
Didn’t realise the damage I had done...

And I know that I didn’t always try.
And I know that I coulda been that guy,
The kinda guy who waits for her in pourin’ rain,
Kinda guy who’d die for her, it shoulda been me!
And I know that it took the night to see,
She was the one for me.

I still remember the way she’d laugh and all the ‘little things’,
Those little things that made her mine, I let slip away.
And, now she’s gone, I look around at the world I’m in.
This place just ain’t the same, I feel the walls are closin’ in,

That night repeats in my head, only wish I could turn back time.
If I only knew what she meant to me...
