Once a bunch of hikers
Went out of the smoky city
To find a place with no red price
Where scenery is pretty

No walls or halls or shopping malls
Or roads or railway tracks
No super bowls or telephone poles
Or smokey chimney stacks

No trucks or trains
Or cars or planes
But really most of all
There was no one who really wanted
To take a telephone call

It was quite absurd
For someone heard a familiar ringtone
Said "I'll be darned, I'm sure I heard..."
"A tinkling telephone"

It's so remote, there are no goats
Or donkeys eating sheep
With bells around their necks
To tell the shepherd where they feed

Gimmy cars backfirin'
Or police sirens
But really here's the thing
There's no one here that wants to hear
That nagging telephone ring

We're far away from civilization
