Verse 1 It starts with a girl, her name is Mary,
A heart full of love, so honest and pure,
Then Gabriel brings an important message
That will change the world for evermore.

(Gabriel - spoken) Fear not, Mary. God has chosen you for a very special job. You are going to have His baby and you will call Him Jesus.

(Narrator - spoken) Now, Mary was engaged to be married to a carpenter, Joseph. When she told him she would be having God’s baby, he promised to stand by her and keep them both safe.

Verse 2 Well, Joseph is kind and he tells Mary,
“I’m here by your side, caring for you.
Together we’ll make this important journey
And we’ll do what God has asked us to do.”

(Narrator - spoken) Joseph told Mary they must travel to Bethlehem, the town from which he came, for the new census. It would be a difficult journey, but Joseph would be by her side all the way.
