Jesus, in the corner
On the dirty old red carpet
Hiding in plain sight
He’s all alone down there
Nobody seems to mind
Just as long as he, he’s alright

Jesus walking down the road
To wander east or west reveals
What he don't know
Guided by a magic man
Everybody stares
So much more than a cross
He has to bare

Growing up in disorder
Trade away what was free
The broken ones can’t be bothered
to find out what they need
Jesus, in the shadows
the mayhem that gets emphasized
Is growing old
Full of doubt, and despair
he’s slightly out of focus
If I had to play the part of Jesus
I’d feel hopeless
