I gladly took Unferth's sword from
him. It was a noble gift. Now I was
armed I rode out to the haunted lake
and without hesitation dived in. The
water was seething with all kinds of
strange snake-like creatures, and they
weren't exactly pleased to see me. They
were even less pleased to see Unferth's
sword, and I hacked my way through
them and so reached a cave where I
came face to face with Mrs Grendel.
